TRAINING GUIDE - 'How to' guides
MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR LIVE PLAN
HOW DO I MOVE SESSIONS IN MY PLAN?
You can move sessions around within your existing training week by:
> Highlighting the left hand part of the session-block you want to move by selecting the arrows on the left
> Hold and drag the session-block over to a different day (in the same week) until you see the dotted lines appear
> You can now drop it on the green highlighted AM or PM session slot
Or you can amend your availability in your 'Training Settings' to make long term changes to your plan.
CAN I CHANGE THE NUMBER OF SESSION IN ANY WEEK?
You can add or reduce sessions to future weeks by going to ‘Training Settings’ then ‘Settings’, and move the slider to how many days you would like to train. All changes made to settings will be implemented in the following week's training schedule, so it will not change your current week.
However our development team are currently working on a 're-plan' feature which allows you to add days or remove days within your current week.
HOW DO I DELETE A TRAINING PLAN?
To view and delete your plans, go to 'My Plans' at the top of your screen. The section is divided into 3 tabs - past, current and future. Select the plan you wish to remove and ‘delete’.
CAN I LOG MY NON RUNNING ACTIVITY IN MBITION?
We appreciate as keen sports people you may do other training sessions like a spin class or a swim session in your training week. At the moment we don't allow you to log these extra sessions as it opens up a lot of bigger questions like, do we allow your extra activity to impact on ACE and your performance?
We actively encourage cross training however there is a fine balance between training for general fitness and training for a specific goal which Mbition is tailored towards. We suggest you reduce your running sessions per week if you have other fitness commitments.
LOG MY SESSIONS
HOW CAN I LOG MY SESSIONS?
There are 4 ways to log a session:
> COMPLETE WITHOUT DETAILS - this logs the session as completed, exactly as the session specifies. So if you don't use any GPS device to log your run, this one if for you.
> MATCH STRAVA GPS SESSION - if you've synced your Strava account with Mbition it will automatically match your Strava sessions with your plan, as long as the dates match and the recorded duration is within 25% of the session. If we can't match a session, then you will get an orange warning icon to the right of your session to indicate you need to match it manually.
> MANUALLY ENTER DETAILS - if you use a non supported GPS tracker, you have the option to enter your distance and duration manually. Alternatively you can upload your activities to a Strava account, and connect your Strava account with Mbition so they automatically update.
> MISSED - please mark all uncompleted sessions as missed so ACE can take them into account when we adapt your plan.
Whichever option you choose, please ONLY RECORD THE MAIN SESSION. Warm up and Cool down segments should not be recorded.
HOW DO I INTEGRATE MY STRAVA ACCOUNT
We chose Strava as our principal method of GPS tracking because it's a great user experience, it's free, and you can connect most GPS hardware devices on the market. To connect your Strava account:
> Go to 'My Profile' then 'Settings' and select 'Connect' under 'My GPS Devices'. You will be taken to the Strava sign-in page (if you’re not already signed in). Simply sign-in and you will be redirected to your Mbition plan.
NOTES ABOUT MATCHING YOUR STRAVA SESSIONS
> SYNCING - when you sign-in you'll see a pop-up notification at the bottom of the screen to confirm your Strava account is synced.
> AUTO MATCHING - if we can't match your Strava data to a session, you'll receive a pop-up notification to let you know there are sessions that require manual matching. e.g. if you'd completed more than one Strava session in a day, but your plan has one session.
> MANUAL MATCHING - if you have sessions that require manual matching, you'll see an orange GPS icon to the right of the session in your weekly view (see right).
To match - click into the session, select 'Match Strava GPS session' and choose the correct Strava data. All sessions that are matched to a GPS session are shown as a black GPS symbol (see right).
MANAGE MY PLANS
HOW LONG ARE MBITION PLANS?
Our plans run from 4 week to 25 weeks out from race day. If your event is further away, we suggest an interim goal of a shorter distance then your main event goal. So if you're running a half marathon, find a 10k to run as an interim goal - you'll find it helps you to stay motivated to break it down into a couple of chunks!
HOW DO I DELETE A PLAN?
Go to 'My Plans' in the top menu. The section is divided into past, current and future plans. Here you delete any plan, but bear in mind you'll lose your training history for each plan if you remove them.
HOW MANY PLANS CAN I SET UP AT ONCE?
There is no limit to how many plans you can set up but each one cannot start until after the 'feel the glory' 2 week recovery phase has finished, after your race day. This is to ensure you take it easy following your event, so you're ready to perform at your best when you start your new plan.
